Iridite Yellow

Iridite Yellow is a type of chromate conversion coating primarily applied to aluminum and its alloys. Here are the key points:

               Purpose:

                               Provides corrosion protection.

Acts as an adhesion promoter for paint or adhesive bonding.

Offers conductive properties (typically low electrical resistance).

The coating thickness ranges from nearly clear to dark yellow.

               Application Methods:

Iridite can be applied by dip, brush, swab, or spray.

The darker the shade of the final coating, the greater the corrosion protection provided.

               Standards:

Commonly used standards include MIL-DTL-5541 in the USA.
