Classic Car Restoration and Automobilia
Plating and polishing services for building and restoring hot rods, classics, race, and street cars all require many plating and polishing services. SS trim, chrome, cad, chromate and more – and Reliable Plating does them all.
Connecticut has a vibrant classic car restoration community, with several clubs and enthusiasts dedicated to preserving automotive history. These clubs and businesses contribute to the rich automotive heritage in Connecticut, fostering a sense of camaraderie among classic car enthusiasts, from Lime Rock to Cars and Coffee events. We love the classics, but there’s a whole lot more to Connecticut’s car culture.
Our customers are as unique as their cars and so are the projects we work on with them.
CT is the home of some very innovative companies, like the company that make the 4 (wheel) corner scales for weighing NASCAR race cars as well as making racing components; another customer of ours is well known for their work on some of the fastest Corvettes on the planet, and customers you’ve likely seen on Motor Trend TV. Others are less well-known but work on amazing and rare cars such as Cunninghams, Ferraris, and Porches.
When working on race cars, or the rare and priceless classics, you put a lot of trust into the company that does your plating, polishing and finishing. Not only do they need to look period correct, but many of these parts are irreplaceable. Our high-quality finishes often replicate and exceed the OEM finish specifications.
Zinc (clear or yellow) chromate finishes perfectly match the original finish for brake and engine components, “triple” chrome, black oxide and passivation, anodize (clear and colors), and polishing techniques are all used when restoring a vehicle or building that special race car. Stainless steel trim can be mirror buffed to like-new condition.
Can’t identify what that original finish was? Call us today (or email a photo of the part in question), we’re always happy to help.
