We are a commercial plating shop, but…
Restoration Services
Like our customers, we love the classics and the restoration process of old homes, bicycles, machinery, cars, vintage boats, and a whole lot more. At Reliable, we have a huge array of services for restoring your parts and components back to like-new condition.
Our experts will put a period correct, or modern, durable finish on your parts. The buffing and polishing experts are artists at bringing back worn and corroded finishes.
Reliable Plating’s specialty is restoring those difficult to find small, original parts that complete any project.
Obviously, we are known for high quality chrome finishes. But we can just as easily restore your yellow zinc chromate, brushed nickel, copper or polished (solid) brass finishes.
Brass-era to classic muscle cars, vintage boats, antique bicycles and motorcycles, even airplane nose cones — For that “period correct”, or better-than-new finish, we do it all.
Many restoration projects rely heavily on our talented and skilled polishers.
Classic home or building renovators — we have you covered too!
We’re experts at restoring and refinishing the ornate fixtures, drawer pulls, door handles, hinges and latches, everything that makes your old home stunning and unique. Got an interesting project? Call us today.
Check out our “applications-by-industry” menu section for more details. It outlines many of the services each type of customer will typically use.

What to bring us:
The better the condition of the parts you provide us, the better the end result!
Ideally, any dents, holes or rust damage should be fully repaired prior to delivering the parts to us for finishing. Typically, damage that cannot be polished out prior to plating, should be repaired.
The better the repair and smoother the finish, the better the final plating or polish/buff will turn out. We are always happy to evaluate your part(s) and make recommendations to ensure a successful project.
We may do limited, minor repairs in house. But we’ll often send precision repair work to specialists on your behalf when required. All of this would be discussed at the time of quoting.

Additional Services
Because we offer so many metal finishing processes, we can offer our customers many of the “interim services” we use every day, as an additional service. While many of these steps are not advertised, we may be able to offer them to you. A sampling of processes that our customers found useful were:
- Cleaning and degreasing
- Acid copper plating (a process for filling and smoothing damaged surfaces prior to final finishing)
- Stripping of old chrome or anodized finishes
- Hydrogen embrittlement relief
- Media/sand blast small parts and tools
and many more…
If you have a special need, just ask us. Chances are good that we can be of service at a reasonable price. Not exactly sure how we can help with that special project? Call today!
